"Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime." I agree wholeheartedly that it is the dedication of a lifetime that defines true patriotism.  You all have given not only your time, dedication and effort, but—most importantly—your very being to the protection and advancement of this great country. You work tirelessly for the rights of the veterans who serve our country, while conducting the nation’s finest civic training to instill young future leaders with the knowledge, understanding and wisdom to govern this country.

As yesterday’s defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today’s military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.

WWII
Korean War
Vietnam War
Persian Gulf War
  Kosovo
War in Afghanistan
War in Iraq
War on Global Terror

and other Peace-Keeping Expeditionary Campaigns throughout the globe.

"Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over". With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!!

If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

VFW Appoints New Adjutant General
VFW Appoints New Adjutant General Brian Duffy becomes first Desert Storm veteran to hold CEO position KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 27, 2017) — Brian Duffy was appointed adjutant general of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. yesterday at the 118th VFW National Convention in New Orleans, La. His appointment comes immediately following a year-long term as the national commander of the more than 1.2 million-member organization. He also becomes the first Desert Storm veteran to hold the position, which is similar in duties to any corporate chief executive officer. Duffy retired from a successful 27-year career with United Parcel Service (UPS) airlines in 2014, having held the titles of flight engineer instructor, instructor/check captain on Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft, and ultimately, assistant chief pilot. He will now oversee the day-to-day operations of the nation’s largest organization of combat veterans. During his time as VFW national commander, Duffy started several new initiatives to support the VFW’s multifaceted approach to serving America’s veterans, service members and their families, as well as their communities. This included new and expanded grants to VFW Posts to boost community service efforts, an expanded relationship with Student Veterans of America, and a nationwide, ongoing campaign to raise awareness and to combat the stigma surrounding seeking mental health care. “I’m honored to take on the new challenge of serving the VFW as its adjutant general,” said Duffy. “Having just finished a year visiting with our service members at home and abroad, hearing from them firsthand on what programs and benefits are working for them and what are not, has given me great perspective. I look forward to applying that perspective to the daily operations of the VFW.” The VFW's new adjutant general served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic on F-4 Pha

VFW Salutes United States Army for 241 Years of Service
Our nation’s soldiers are America’s true heroes.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – June 14, 2016, marks the 241st year of service from the United States Army. The U.S. Army has evolved drastically since it was originally organized as the Continental Army in 1775; battlefields have transformed, weaponry has evolved, faces have come and gone, military uniforms have varied, but one thing holds fast: the bravery and the heart of the individuals who wear the uniform, and their commitment to their mission.

President Kennedy said once "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." There are few ways less noble to serve our country than through the military. The courage and strength that you all exude are qualities which deserve only our highest gratitude. I cannot thank you enough for what you have done.
